I have decided to sell my Elise S1 as I need a more practical car at the moment. I’m looking to replace it with an Elan Plus 2 or an Excel if anyone fancies a change.
The Elise has been owned by myself since 2016. I bought it from the previous owner in Yorkshire who had done a number of modifications and upgrades including, Nitron NTR40 shock absorbers and springs, close ratio PG1 gearbox with Quaife ATB diff and braided brake hoses all round. The clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder pipe has also been replaced for a steel braided one.
In my ownership I have kept on top of the car’s maintenance by stripping and rebuilding both the front and rear suspension. Rear was done in 2016. Whilst doing this I replaced the ball joints and also fitted rose jointed toe bars from elise-shop. The off side rear wheel bearing was replaced at this time also. The front overhaul was completed in 2024. Wishbones were powder coated and new bushes and ball joints refitted. I also replaced the antiroll bar bushes and drop links and the track rod ends.

The car is now 25 years old and is showing some age related marks. Mainly at the front where there are quite a lot of stone chips. It looks good from a distance but it won’t win any concourse awards. There are a few gel cracks on the front clam and boot lid. The car, being a millennium edition, has the 111S trim levels. This includes alcantara fabric on the seats, steering wheel door cards and sill pads. It also has the fogged front and side indicator lenses.
I fitted new tyres all round in 2024. These are Toyo Proxes TR1’s. The hood has the usual broken front plastic piece and some of the stitching is now not great but it still keeps the passengers dry in all but the heaviest of downpours! Service manual with stamps up to 2015. Large history file and Elise workshop manual included in the sale.
