For sale is my Canyon Red Lotus Elise 111R Touring – a beautifully restored example of this iconic sports car. This is my third Lotus, having previously owned a Black 111R and a Lotus Evora S. After parting with the Evora, I lasted just three months before returning to the Elise – testament to how special these cars are.

I’ve owned the car for around 9 months and, during that time, have invested significant time and money to bring it back to the high standard it deserves. Like many fibreglass-bodied cars, the paint had suffered over 19 years of use. To address this, I commissioned a full body-off respray from a Lotus-approved specialist, and the result is one of the cleanest 111Rs you’re likely to find. I have full photographic documentation of the car before and during the restoration to show it was cosmetic only – no accident damage.

The car has full service history and comes with its second service book. Below is a summary of the work carried out during my ownership:

£5,500 – Full body-off respray by Lotus-approved specialist bodyshop
£1,500 – Replacement of all plastic trim and door waist seals
£1,350 – Full “F” service including new thermostat
£500 – 4x Yokohama ADVAN Sport V105 tyres
£400 – New discs and pads all round
£200 – Rear diffuser powder coated
£200 – Steering wheel retrimmed in Alcantara
£75 – New front tow hook (installed during clam removal)
Performance Upgrades: Janspeed aftermarket exhaust (fantastic sound), ECU remap to lower cam changeover point – a popular modification for more responsive low-end power

The car has only covered around 500 miles since the completion of this work. It drives superbly and is mechanically spot-on.

Only selling due to a change in priorities – with a young child, I’m now looking for something more family-friendly like a BMW M car or Mercedes CLA45. Sensible offers considered
