‘Behind the wheel of a Lotus Elise 111S, on a sunny morning on a deserted, twisty road, you will approach motoring nirvana.’ – The Times.
This sums the car up rather well and it is now a very rare model and even more so in this sort of condition.
The S1 111S is considered by many as the best Series 1 model, blending the extra punch of the VVC 143bhp K-Series with ease of driving compared to the 160 Sport, which can be a little less forgiving at lower speeds. The engine has been further improved by the renowned K-Series specialist Dave Andrews with his K06a 170bhp kit. This gives a very useful power and torque increase across the range and especially between 4500 and 7200, comprising a fully ported cylinder head, retiming of the VVC inlet camshafts and improved exhaust camshaft. The kit retains the original VVC mechanisms and standard ECU.
This example has wanted for nothing over the years. The car was registered to the first owner on 1st March 2000 by Kinsey Jones Ltd. The second owner then acquired the car in late August 2001 with around 7200 miles recorded, which then started the run of good long ownership periods. The previous owner to me bought the car with 13,600 miles on the clock in June 2007 and I then took ownership in April 2017.
26yrs on and the car is still in amazing condition having spent the last 18+ yrs garaged. The service record is spot on as well and has been cared for to a very high standard by lotus specialists Phoenix Motorsport in Accrington from 2007 – 2016, and during my ownership at Sportomotive in Bournemouth and Purbeck Sports Cars.
The car comes with:
- A Lotus factory hardtop, which is in mint condition. The hardtop comes with its own purpose made protective bag.
- Roll bar cover.
- As new Lotus soft-top. This was purchased just before I took ownership and I have only used it in weather emergency’s.
- Roof struts and bag.
- 2 Keys plus Alarm Fobs
- Folder with Servicebook, Handbook etc.
- Locking wheel nut.
