I’ve decided to put my Lotus Elise 111R Sports Racer up for sale (Toyota 2ZZ 190HP engine).
The Sports Racers were limited to 100 in total, with 50 blue and 50 red produced, this one is number 79. They had both the Touring and Sports packs fitted as well as the wider wheels, exhaust and suspension of the Exige. These blue cars came with white stripes, on this car these have been removed for a more subtle look, but could easily be re-instated for originality. This car has had significant recent work with highlights including: Full clamshell-off respray, Bilstein suspension rebuild all round, Suspension arm re-bush and powder coat, Stainless suspension bolts all-round, Spitfire rear toe-links, 4-wheel Geo at Purbeck Sports Cars (Jul 26), Corbeau Elise bucket seats, LM Corse digital dash (original included in sale), New front coolant and AC rads, New stainless hardware all round for body parts, Much more work done as any viewer will see, Last serviced Mar 26, MOT to Apr 27.
This Elise drives very well and would be a perfect track day car, given the lower price point due to categorisation. The VVT engages properly at 6k RPM and the gearbox is smooth and precise, ‘Stan’s Mod’ has been made to the shifter mechanism to provide a crisper shift.
This car is Cat S, after a front end collision that damaged the front left suspension arm mounting point and the front clamshell in Nov 21. The suspension mounting was replaced, re-bonded and bolted into place, with chassis deviation measured to under 2mm, the whole front clamshell was also replaced with a genuine Lotus part, a full respray was then carried out. I am happy to provide before/ after photos of the incident and repair, and let you examine these areas during viewing for total transparency. Radiators, headlights etc were all replaced too while the clamshell was off the car.
Things to note: I only have service history after categorisation, the owner who crashed the car was a well known SELOC forum member who had it from 2008 to 2021. The AC system has a slow leak and requires new hoses, but is otherwise operational.
3 previous owners, 2 keys, service book pack included with service history from 2022. Many thanks for looking, happy to answer any questions or send across further photos.
