Listing this for a local friend who isn’t on here. It was I who sold him this engine in 2010. The engine had done less than 15k when I sold it to him.
Rover K Series VHPD Engine, Jenvey throttle bodies and VHPD airbox and trumpets.
This engine came from a 2001 Lotus Exige. I purchased it around 2010. It was rebuilt by DVA Power in 2011, including new liners and rings and was balanced by vibration free. It was then set up on emeralds rolling road, making 195 BHP. The ignition was converted to wasted spark.
The engine did around 5000 miles until life and a house move with nowhere to keep the car got in the way and the car and engine did nothing for quite a few years. In 2024/25 I rebuilt the car once I had built a garage.
In late 2025 the car was back on the road and unfortunately the auxiliary belt snapped and got behind the crank pulley, trapping the cambelt. This caused valve damage. The head was stripped and had new valve guides, 16 new valves and a new MLS head gasket, new head bolts as well as a water pump, cam belt and alternator pulley.
The engine has done less than 500 miles since the rebuild and is still in the car so it can be seen running.
The sale includes the engine with all ancillaries, VHPD manifold, lightweight flywheel, airbox, Jenveys, and the emerald ECU with 3 switchable maps. Also included is the gearbox, but is not the close ratio unit.
