For sale is my Lotus Elise Motorsport replica project
This is complete, but I haven’t been able to get it running. Built with mostly new parts, but never used. I have included a basic cost breakdown on major items listed (£).
The base car is a 1998 S1 Elise, good chassis.(£9k) Fitted with bespoke wide bodied Motorsport Elise body kit (three piece rear body work with a quick release rear body system) (£3.5k). There are only two of these built. The body is 2 inches wider each side than a standard S1 Exige. It has the full roof scoop and vented engine cover. Painted in Porsche Miami Blue. (£3.5k). Standard and large rear spoilers included. New Lotus windscreen fitted. (£1k).
Gold Braid wheels – fronts: 17 x 8 with Toyo R888 225/45/17 and rear: 18 x 10 with Toyo R888 275/35/18. (£3k)
Engine is: Audi (AGU) 1.8t 20v, re-built by JNL Racing, so is effectively a 2.1 litre ‘stroker engine’ with forged internals, modified induction manifold, new TFSI crank, bearings etc. new injectors, new valves, guides seals etc. standard cams (£7k). Pro Alloy baffled sump. Turbo charger is a new Garret G25 550 (£1k), with custom manifold (ceramic coated) and stainless exhaust system and waste gate (£3k). ECU is Maxx Sport with base 1.8t map installed (£1k). Bhp is expected as 500bhp. ECU is switchable – 3 settings: 300, 400 and 500 bhp. Electronic fuel
Gearbox is Seat 6 speed 02M (ERR) with Quaife LSD fitted and new Sachs upgraded clutch system (£2k). New clutch master and slave cylinders with interconnecting braided hose. S3 Exige gear linkage shroud. S2 Elise gear linkage mechanism and cables. Bespoke high strength drive shafts with 4 new cv joints/boots (£2k).
Full Safety Devices roll cage installed (£1k) with Scroth harnesses and Tillet B5 seats (£1.5k).
Pro Alloy charge-cooler and pump fitted and plumbed in. – New Pro Alloy 60 litre fuel tank and high pressure pump fitted. – New Pro Alloy 3 core radiator and twin fans with silicone hoses all round. Pro Alloy header tanks x 3 (£3.5k).
Suspension is S2 Elise uprights and hubs, refreshed with Nitron wishbone spherical bearings. Nitron NTR 40 shock absorbers and stiffer springs. New ball joints fitted all round. New quick-rack steering rack and steering arms. Spitfire Toe links. Rear cross brace and towing eyes (2x rear and 1 front) (approx.£3k).
New Caparo 4 pot brake calipers front and new AP Lotus two pot brake calipers rear, Pagid brake pads – new AP 308mm brake discs with Nitron floating bells, with Hi Spek V2 spot handbrake calipers. Braided hoses. New master clylinder. (£3+k)
Bespoke wiring loom throughout by Ken Cooper – including new Stack gauges: Oil temp, Oil pressure, Fuel level, Water temp, Turbo boost gauge and clock (£5k).
B&G steering wheel hub with 280mm Momo Team removable steering wheel (£800).
(Lots more spent on AN fittings/braided engine plumbing ancillaries etc.)
All receipts and build information provided – costs in excess of £60k.
