For sale is my Series 1 Lotus Elise, finished in Spice Yellow (B36) with a green leather interior and matching originals green canvas roof. (The roof is in as new condition, with the plastic bar and all the stitching looking as new).
Supplied new by Kings Lotus of Worcester, this S1 is a genuinely lovely example, with 30,000 miles from new. (This will rise slightly due to still being used).
In my ownership, I’ve carried out a small mechanical re-fresh, including most of the suspension to get it driving as good as new.
The paintwork is in sublime condition, which has benefitted from a full paint correction and ceramic coating. There is absolutely no osmosis on the entire body and very little stone chipping to the front clam. This is one of the best condition S1’s I’ve seen for bodywork in a while.
The chassis is also in exceptional condition and is almost like brand new. I’ve detailed all of the chassis area with the wheel arch liners out. All the rust prone bobbins are still black and have been protected with ACF50 regularly. The aluminium is lovely and clean with no signs of any corrosion. This has been maintained as the car isn’t driven in the wet.
Brand new Yokohama AD08RS’s fitted in 2023 at 26, 500 miles, which have plenty of tread left on them. The car has also benefitted from a new aluminium radiator and silicone hoses at the same time.
In 2024, new Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs were fitted along with drop links, track rod ends and rear toe link assemblies. This was followed up with a full wheel alignment carried out by Allon White Sports Cars, which has transformed the handling to as new.
Front and rear discs and pads have also been replaced this year by myself with the OEM looking discs and Mintex racing pads.
The interior is finished in green leather with matching sill protectors and green ‘Elise’ mats. The original leather seats have been cleaned up with Gliptone leather products and are in fantastic condition, which have recently had the brushed nylon material at the rear of the seat replaced by Allon White. The steering wheel leather is also in great condition and has been improved with a new centre crash pad and horn push.
The footwells, aluminium tub and sill protectors show little wear. The original fit green Elise mats are also in excellent condition. The door cards have been replaced with new old stock Lotus items and really lift the interior.
This year I’ve had a full D-Service carried out by Allon White sports cars. This included a new Gates cambelt kit, tensioner, water pump, thermostat housing, plugs, leads, coolant and gearbox oil change. I’ve also had the downpipe replaced as the flexi section had started showing small signs of wear.
Car comes with two keys, Elise book pack, owners manual and service book. Very good history file, detailing all the work carried out on the car during its life.
Overall, this is one of the nicest, ready to use S1’s on the market. No work is needed and it’s ready for the new owner to use and enjoy without any worry.
