Finally decided to sell my Elise after a change in circumstances. She has led a very sheltered life with 4 previous owners and comes with a large file documenting the history of the car. 52 reg, head gasket replaced 2K miles ago (with photos), alloy radiator with uprated Spal fans and stainless tow post. Yokohama LTS 2 tyres as new, C Service with cam belt water pump etc changed. New cat plus sensors, Eliseparts stainless exhaust and Mintex 1144 pads. After over a decade of fun ownership my Renault Clio Trophy number 271 is reluctantly up for sale.

Putting up on forums before going out more generally.

For those not aware the Trophy was a run out version of the Clio 182 and has been listed by several as amongst the greatest hot hatches of all time.

I have owned for the last ten years and spent a lot of time and money partially restoring it to keep as fresh as possible so it should be one of the better ones out there mechanically. Reason for selling are common to the forum namely accumulated too many cars, not enough storage space I and spending all my time on planning restoration projects rather than driving them. Also for this one I have finished our restoration work.

Three pairs of Ohlins coil springs . The first pair are 200mm long, 45mm I.d. And 70N/mm . They are standard Elise type fitting and in excellent condition having done only one or two track sessions before being changed to a higher rate.

The second two  pairs are both 63mm I.d . The lower rated pair, 60N/mm are 180mm long and the higher rated pair , 80N/mm are 200mm long and. Although not suitable for an Elise , they will fit a wide range of more ‘usual’ coilovers (2 1/2” ) . Like the others , in excellent condition with very little use . Happy to post in the U.K. at buyers expense .

I am sure some on this group will know me, Andrew Goater, regarding PG1 gearbox building. Over the last 10 or more years, I have supplied numerous B4BP close ratio gearboxes for Lotus cars on this group.

For racing the B4BP is too long gears. In a similar way that Lotus have their own UCR gear in the 340R cars, I have had custom made a 3 gear (6 sprocket) kit which uses the original C ratio gears 1 and 2 but a very close ratio 3, 4 and 5. The intention is you only use 1st gear off the line and 2 to 5 are very close. It fits a C6BP 3.9 final drive box and on 16" wheels gives a top speed of 125mph. If you use bigger wheels or your engine revs more than 7500rpm a 4.2 final drive can be used.

The gears are helical and are the same tooth design as the original gears. So, unlike using straight cut, these are quiet.

At 70mph (113kph) the rpm's are at 4500 in top gear. This does mean it's very fast to accelerate at this …

To prevent problems with the original plastic dipstick fracturing and ending up in the sump, potentially wrecking the engine, I designed and tested these plugs, the idea being that you fit this in place of the plastic stick, (which you keep on board for checking the oil level) then run at whatever revs. without any worries! As a bonus it adds a bit of bling to the engine bay! They're fitted with 3 viton 'O' rings, the handle being secured with a titanium screw. Delivery is to U/K only
