Lotus Elise 135R – Honda converted
Here we have my Honda converted Lotus Elise 135R. It is car #001 and was used in all the press release literature from Lotus.
The car has spent a large proportion of its life in Scotland with a very heavy presence on ScottishElises.
The original conversion was done by Craig Montecrief Cars using a Stark conversion with receipt to confirm. This was done at roughly 60000miles. The lotus ECU was not connected, I’m told the car did roughly 3000 miles during this time. This was the first job once the car was collected.
Now for the interesting bit.
K20a2 installed using Stark kit unless otherwise stated.
KPro V4 ECU mapped by Dan Webster of HPE making 205BHP.
Main engine mounts swapped to Essex’s autosport items, this was to get a better angle for the drive shafts.
Engine steadies modified to suit.
Fully heat wrapped Stark under chassis exhaust system with sports cat mounted to Janspeed back box. (No noise issues on track)
72mm throttle body attached to an S2 carbon ITG cold air intake.
HPE supplied laminovo oil cooler.
Remote oil filter setup to allow for easier filter changes.
Stark wiring method, MFRU removed in favour of individual relays. Running lotus ECU piggy backed to provide speed and temp on dash.
New sound and heat deadening applied to bulk head.
Rest of engine bay has been covered in gold heat proofing, including underneath the boot.
OZ multi spokes as standard.
Nitron 46mm coilovers.
Standard lotus drilled discs with Carbone Lorraine CL5+ pads all-round, braided hoses. Pads have done roughly 1000miles.
Stark drive shafts cleaned and rebuilt using GKN high performance Tripod and CV greases as applicable.
Rebuilt gear box and new Exedy clutch installed last year.
Turbo Harry’s gear linkage, a million times better than the stark item.
Mica blue body work with body coloured grills all around as standard on the 135R.
Rear panel delete to allow the heat to escape.
Blue alacantra dash board, instrument binicle and door cards
Passenger – Probax black leather seat.
Driver – Probax black leather and alacantra sport seat.
Paint centre console in black.
Genuine Lotus Blue 135R floor mats.
Garw IC7 digital dash, showing 62358miles and installed at 61368miles (standard dash can be provided)
I also has numerous Lotus and Honda spare parts that I may let go with the car.
The bad bits:
Previous owner hit a pheasant causing a crack to the front clam.(Visible on the photos)
Front clam has some of the standard S2 paint blistering. One of the sills has some damage which appears to be from a jack. Neither roof these effect the mechanical running of the car and are both purely cosmetic.
